I am still extracting one of those gigantic lichess databases out of curiosity.
The one I have downloaded (2018/01) probably will be around 35GB! decompressed.
Yeah.. the problem is modern PGN files ...

Anyone knowing of a trick to strip the pgn to just the moves played for both sides?
Even better, if this could be done with the whole pgn file.

ScidvsPC always kills and starts a new instance of the engine for every game.

Ozkan is a compiler guru Smile , and he said there wasn't a C++11 one available.
But i think we can compile with VCC if we have too... just very incovenient,
and the binaries wouldn't be really tested ...

Scid vs PC has recently added support for CQL (5.1) query searches (thanks Lionel).
The code is in subversion, and it seems to go ok Smile.

That's an interesting app. Looks lovely. They say it is easy to use, but from some of their GUI choices in the screenshots... i'm not convinced. How does it go ? $25 is fairly reasonable, but i guess ...
