Next Match request for Martin Thoresen

Martin,

Thanks for running and showing the matches.

When this is finished, could you pair Rybka 4 against Houdini 1.0.3, or fire 1.3.

Thanks for following!

The next pairing will be decided by a poll, most likely.

Also, I've decided to change the opening database. Still 24 positions, but if you guys have some openings you want to use please let me know in this thread.

Only rule is max 16 ply (8 moves) and it must be fairly balanced out of book.

Martin,

I have a suggestion for 2 of the games. This opening sequence usually results in a very exciting game:

1. c4 Nf6
2. Nc3 e6
3. e4 d5
4. e5 d4
5. exf6 dxc3

Which results in this position:

rnbqkb1r/ppp2ppp/4pP2/8/2P5/2p5/PP1P1PPP/R1BQKBNR w KQkq - 0 6

The game will be sharp, but the starting "out of book" position is balanced.

Thanks

Why 24 and not 25 positions?

These are 48 game matches, with each side playing the same opening twice, hencd 24 opening positions.

either the new houdini (which i believe is 10-20 elo stronger than previous) or the latest ivanhoe compile (preferably with robbobases) at time of tournament start.

i don't believe fire 1.3 should be considered as afaik it's below these two in strength.

I'd like to see IvanHoe 9.54a as well (or maybe 9.53 that just came out)

Thanks, I like this one!

It's gonna be game 1 & 2 of the next match.
