Thank you Jon. Should I buy a 2013 Dodge Dart and will it come with a GUI for playing chess?
If only the auto companies would give free upgrades.

Re: Arasan 14.2
Yes, I can confirm this (on my Win98 notebook here).fern wrote:As I said, after activating the exe, the board comes to life as usual, but then no move happens after the gui correctly display my first move.
But it happens only very seldom, maybe once or twice out of 10 starts, and so far I can't see any system in these failures.
So I guess it won't be easy to find the source of this problem.
When it happend for me I just closed and restarted Arasan again and usually after this it's working again.
Regards,
Franz

Re: Arasan 14.2
I have a candidate fix for this but am still testing it out.
It looks like there is still a problem with handing the ping command in the Winboard protocol. As far as I can tell this bug has no effect when using Winboard or xboard itself, but it affects the native Arasan GUI, which uses the same protocol but not exactly in the same way.

Re: Arasan 14.2
Great, thanks for that feature! I tried to implement it myself in Arasan but failedjdart wrote: 11) Support is added for varying the engine strength via UCI or Winboard
options (Arasan GUI supports this too).
There is just a little problem, Arasan plays at full strength while pondering and after a ponderhit. It would be easy to turn of pondering, but some GUI's don't support that. Could you fix that pleeeaaaasse?

I believe I can fix this along with the other problem.
