Please tell the millionaire who loves chess that one of the top computer chess programmers needs some financing! His name is Don Dailey.
I met Karpov at a team chess tournament while working at MIT. I think he was on a team with Roman Dzindzichashvili and they were looking for an under-rated fish to play their bottom board - I was under-rated at the time but already committed to the MIT team. Secretly I really wanted to be on the same team with these great players Roman and Karpov but it would have been selfish to dump the team I had already committed to.
One of my team mates said it would be emarrassing having them laugh at your games, but I was never embarrassed by things like that. I knew that I sucked but they knew my rating so they would know what to expect.
Capital punishment would be more effective as a preventive measure if it were administered prior to the crime.
Really? For what is that you need that financing? If there is some good reason, I have no problems to talk to him. As we say here, "en el pedir no hay engaño".

Draw or beat him, too! like you did with Anand.
I did Korchnoi once. Draw.
So you need to draw me too, if you want to be world champion!
Somehow I think that a world chess championship between Stuart and Fern would be much more entertaining than the one we had a few months ago!
fern wrote:Stuart, as I said clearly from the beginning, Anand just gave a me a gift. When he said "this is a draw" the game was equal, but i am sure that he did not put on it much effort and even so he would have won me some moves later if he had wanted to do so.
I am normally a lousy 2000 elo player, perhaps 2100 or 2200 in a good day, years light from any GM.
Consider your game with me as already won regards
Fern
with me, it was also like a gift. I mean, he had lost the exchange and immeadiately noticed (before i did) and jumped, but claimed he did not recognize the pieces of my hand made chess set. Still, he refused my offer to take back his move!

Drawing could still happen if stressed. (being afraid to lose, and that is what people are like today).
