Youngest author of an original engine?

Post by vittyvirus »

Who is, currently, the youngest author of an ORIGINAL chess engine? I see Matthew Brades isn't.

Not currently ...
But James Robertson (Insomniac) with 14 years he started ...
Long time nothing heard about James, one of the most talented programmers (opinion by the other programmers in Leiden for some years). Frans Morsch discuss a long time with him in Leiden. Maybe we heard about James later ...

I like the vather of James so much. What for a friendly American guy, same for James.

Best
Frank

I believe Miguel (Gaviota) started also in very young years. I like the works Miguel do for the community and also his style of discussion!

I do not know when Miguel first started programming a chess engine, but he released Gaviota 0.1 in 2001. Using the photo at CPW to estimate his age, I would say that Old Man Ballicora was 67 when Gaviota was released

Actually, he was probably in his thirties when Gaviota was created.

In fact the younger programmer ever is me. I started Moron at 3 years of age. It does not matter that my program not even play the first move. The fact is I started younger than anyone else.

There is a younger programmer than you.
I saw in my imagination a baby who wrote an original engine at 0 years of age.

If it does not matter that your program did not even play the first move then
it does not matter that the baby and the engine exist only in my imagination.
