Qe6. Took me two minutes so I would not have seen it in a real game when in time trouble. Also then you get no hint that it is a mate in three.

OTOH you would not be presented the position with a blank mind in that case, and might have already been planning for that mate a long time.

Isn't that the truth, no clue what so ever in a real game. As HGM states, in a real game you may have been planning for it. In that case chances are good that you may have seen it.Henk wrote:Qe6.
