The 64-bit linux compile is not a linux binary, but rather a windows executable:

roy@ubuntu-roy:~/chess/doch-13/doch-13-ja/linux-64bit$ file doch64-1.3.exe
doch64-1.3.exe: PE32+ executable for MS Windows (console)

PS: Unless there's something wrong with the executable and the way it was compiled, I don't think that this is going to be 40+ elo. Perhaps the default settings don't have correctly tuned evaluation.

How do you go about testing the way you do? Could you give a step by step procedure. I would also like to test a few things.

Hi Matthias,

32 bit windows compile is compressed with upx. This was necessary to prevent my win32 Intel compiles being flagged as a trojans
in some antivirus programs. (very clever aren't they!) Unpacking it may solve your problem - http://upxshell.sourceforge.net/
