Promoting to Q or R draws by stalemate, b8=N is a trivial draw, not capturing the Queen loses.

Re: Wanted - Bishop promotion FEN
Cheers HG. You're quick
Scid fails on this unusual move when (gully and olithink for eg) sends "a7b8b".
Other promotions are fine. I suppose the b is getting confused with the b column , but i'll sort it out sometime soon.

Re: Wanted - Bishop promotion FEN
Hello:
Dragoslav Tomic (1-0) Frank Winzbeck (Dortmund, 1993).
[d]3rb2k/2P4p/6pP/p2B1pP1/Pp2pP2/1P2K3/8/8 w - - 0 1
---------------------
This is a very similar position to Muller's example:

[d]1r6/2P5/8/8/8/2N5/8/k6K w - - 0 1
---------------------
Other example (not only bishop underpromotion):

[d]Bq1B1K2/3Pp3/P3Pp2/P1p2P2/2Pk1b1R/1p6/pN1P1P2/QR6 w - - 0 1
---------------------
Some underpromotion examples:
http://timkr.home.xs4all.nl/chess2/minor.htm
---------------------
There was a nice position in RybkaForum about a bishop underpromotion that Rybka can not solve, but IPPOLIT family engines can. I have searched the position but I have not got success. There was something like gxh8=B, Qd6+ (or Qc7+ or Qb8+, I do not remember); Be5, ... I think that white king was on h2, black queen was on the eighth rank and white had a knight (maybe in c7, threatening Ne6).
---------------------
I have found some threads in RybkaForum:
http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... pid=197299
http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforu ... ?tid=13050
---------------------
I wrote some FEN strings by hand, so may contain typos. Please be careful and I expect that these positions will be useful for you!
---------------------
In the position posted by Muller, Symbolic is right according to Online Shredder EGTB.
