There are many nice programs that I would like to have again as a human.
I'll try to mention most of them, excuse me if I forget some of them.
I would really love to see MChess Pro back on the scene for me personally. Maybe as a UCI engine. I love DOS, thats where my roots are but not to feasible unless I start running multiple OS.
Never had Ferret but that was a beauty to watch and behold. Very strong engine I'm sure most of us would agree. Never had NowX but that was a nice one. I loved Zarkov's style, very positional. That is still being developed I believe. NowX is too. Chess Tiger is being worked on too. I remember ban(Junior) in it's infancy, strong back then, around 96-97 but that is alive and kicking today.

Haven't seen a Zarkov version in years, but I would love to see a new one. That, along with M-Chess Pro and Chess Genius.

I voted Chess Genius (after hesitating with MChess, but we only get one vote, so...) but what I really want is a new Sargon
I've started to translate the z80 asm sources of the first Sargon to Pascal, but it is very time consuming and not on my priority tasks list... My idea would be to unlock its depth and add Prédateur's uci routines to it.

Zarkov was by Don Daily, so you must consider Komodo as the new, lot stronger zarkov.

I don't think there is much of a market for these programs in their original versions any more, since they've been overtaken by newer software, but I think it would be cool if some of these older programs were open-sourced. I don't expect it will happen, but it would still be interesting to see what is under the hood. (And no, I am not advocating disassembling them - I am talking about an official open source version from the author(s) or copyright holders).

Not so. Zarkov was written by John Stanback.
