Joker (WB) by Manlio Morini

Post by Norbert Raimund Leisner »

Hello,

http://www.eosdev.it/joker/ - https://github.com/morinim/joker is a finished project from Italy and has nothing in common with HGM´s Joker engine http://home.hccnet.nl/h.g.muller/dwnldpage.html .

Manlio says: "it's just a case of coincidence: I don't know H.G.Muller and I wasn't aware of his software.

Probably you already know but there's also a Joker by J.C.Weill. At the time it was a very interesting engine because it implemented entropic extensions.."

If you take a look at the original Italian text, exists indeed a compatibility to CECP.

Perhaps it´s possible to build Windows binaries of of the source code.

Thank you in advance.

Norbert.

Because of Joker CECP Engine Manlio from Italy says:
"Well, it's an "old" project: the language predates the C++98 standard
various assembler-optimized routines aren't anymore efficient on recent CPUs the general organization doesn't comply with modern software engineering practices (it started as a C-language project).
but probably it contains one of the first implementation of the MTD-f search algorithm and I would be sorry to lose something I spent much time on... and that's why it's on Github."
