You dont have to register to read the stuff, I dont have a membership at that forum.
I received the following Ubisoft email today:

quote:
Dear Friends, Hello!

This is Josh Waitzkin. As you probably know from my Academy, chess is much more than a game to me. It is an art, a science, a sport, yes—but beyond all else it is a vehicle for self-exploration. My love for chess is fueled by its power as a metaphor for life. Chess is a teacher. And I am, if anything, a learner.

Now, I am excited to tell you that my new book, The Art of Learning, is coming out today! The story begins with my discovery of chess in Washington Square Park as a six-year-old boy, and it ends with a narrative of the 2004 Tai Chi Chuan Push Hands World Championships—the most intense experience of my life. In between are my ideas, my joys and pains, my pursuit of excellence in chess and the martial arts. The book comes from my heart. I hope you find it compelling.

Also, I want all of you to know that we are currently working on an exciting new version of Chessmaster® - more information on that will be coming soon.

I wish you the very best!

You don't have to register to see the posts, Here is what he says:

If Josh is working on chessmaster, then it isnt really what we are looking for. We are basically looking for a new version The King engine and not a new interface. Sorry for beating you by a second bro.

It might not be what YOU are looking for. But it is what I am looking for

Frankly, chess engines are as strong as I will ever, ever need them. So now I am just interested in improvements in interfaces, etc etc

". So now I am just interested in improvements in interfaces, etc etc"

I'm trying to think of what more improvements in this area are
possible. CM does everything now except wash the dishes for you.
Regarding playing strength, there's no such thing as too much, or
even 'enough' for some of us.
I doubt it was Waitzkin himself who authored that message. But
it's good news that the CM series is still alive. I just hope it is
de Koning who will make any software improvements. He writes a
great engine!... I think you'll agree.

It just must have a direct interface with the DGT board.

Hi,

I chatted with De Koning at Leiden last November - he said there may be a new ChessMaster but he doubted he would have anything to do with it. I will see him next week in Leiden again - I will ask the same question.

Best Wishes,

Harvey
