Collector's Corner..This Guy Must Be Kidding Us

Post by Steve B »

Well i thought i have seen everything there is to see on Ebay.. but i guess not

this seller is offering ONE Chess computer Piece
A Bavarian Promoted pawn for use with the piece recognition Mephisto Bavarian board
at a price of $25 this would make a full set of Bavarian pieces amount to $850 alone (32 pieces+ 2 promoted pawns)
not to mention the fact that if a lowly pawn is selling for $25 then the King or Queen??perhaps $50-$100 a pop?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Schachcomputer-Meph ... dZViewItem

as if this were not enough..from the same seller ..a small part from the Saitek Renaissance board..not the whole board but only one small part

the removable plastic cover which fills the module compartment if there is no add-on module in the compartment.
also at $25 this Module" Klappe" which is about 1/100th the size and weight of the whole board would extrapolate to a cost of $2500 for a full board

Lets Get Real Here Regards

it is a pawn that when it reaches the 8th rank it will be recognized as a Queen by the Mephsito Bavarian board(or Rook , Knight or bishop)

the Bavarian board recognizes the pieces due to coils in the piece unlike other dedicated computers
so if a player promotes to a piece where there is already these pieces on the board the Capped or promoted pawn will be recognized as this piece otherwise it will remain as a pawn
do you see the little cap or hat on the pawn??
