Re: Passed Pawns Up
Hi Ed
Thanks for your message, it helped (obviously)
I noticed in the last parts that you use the term "controls" a lot. Yet I get the feeling you mean "attacks". (The difference being that when you control a square you could safely move a piece there, while when you attack a square that's not sure.
Which one do you mean ?
BTW it's interesting to see things done a different way. I have to test wich combination of ideas works best though.
Seeing how obstructed the promotion path is, seems like a winner however.
Cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony,
Control=attack.
I should be more consistent in my choice of words, agree.

Thanks Ed, it's quite instructive to see how you deal with the evaluation function .

Re: Passed Pawns Up
I like the Rebel description very much.
I could not see the pawn information in my browser Firefox.
When I tried MS Internet Explorer a lot of hidden things appear
and the internal links suddenly work.
- Please make the text readable for more browsers
- or write something like 'view with explorer'
- or anybody tell me what could be wrong with my browser or its settings.
