....Yeah,don't get so excited, yet another stupid handicap match....
It's just getting worse, why a 2700+ Fide player would agree to play like a jerk against Rybka
From Rybka forum....
Vadim Milov, World #28 at 2705 FIDE (2750 USCF), has agreed to play a handicap match with Rybka in mid-September. The plan is for an eight game match at FIDE time controls (90'+30"), to consist of two games of normal chess in which Milov gets the White pieces, and six handicap games (two games at pawn and move, meaning Rybka removes f7 pawn, and four games at odds of the Exchange (Rybka removes White rook from a1, Milov removes Black knight from b8).
This is not chess,it's an ugly parody of the chess playing game
Rybka to play a 2700+ human opponent in mid September....

This is not chess,it's an ugly parody of the chess playing game
these handicap games are not chess but rather a spectacle
might just as well play Monopoly or any another board game
i wonder if all of these handicap matches are not really designed to show Rybka as invincible at the expense of the GM
as to why would a GM agree to this ??
well .. sadly ..i guess the GM's need the money so they are willing to be offered up as human sacrifices to the Rybkian God
the last "real" match was against GM Benjamin who only received draw odds for purposes of scoring and prize fund distribution(and he also had White in every game)
that match ended with the GM scoring two draws and six losses
perhaps a stronger GM could have scored better i do not know..

Yeah, don't look at it as a chess game, look at it as marketing. Doesn't seem so bad then.

Don't they have any sense of integrity,I can understand the need of a cach issue, but still....
Play the game like a man following the standard chess game rules and whatever the outcome is,so let it be....

No,not at all,it's one of my well trained weapons against strong engines having the black pieces....a safe and quite line of the russian defence and even the mighty Rybka running as a MP engine can't slaughter me....Steve B wrote:Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:
