I think it's only walking these days...very slowly, except for Tony. :wink:

What is their standard hardware today? I see Tony uses a Intel Quad Q6600 vs AMD Athlon 1.2 in matches showing the importance of speed over software alone.

P.P.S.Too Bad Bob couldn't order a few hundred and distribute them among the community! All sporting Crafty Cray as a Science Project. :D

Terry, actually all of the SSDF testers are mainly using Q6600 these days..They are just using A1200 to link the rating list..sort of like a bridge. They use one of the slowest time controls on this planet when it comes to testing engines, so we cant ask them for more..

You are right Tony, we need to give them all the time they need.

In only 8 years they have gone from A450 to Quad Core machines.

And maybe Desktop Crays in the not too distant future? :o
