crafty and chess960 support, which engine does it?

Hi,

as far as I know crafty is not supporting FEN or notations of chess960
variants. But crafty is one of the most feature rich chess engines around,
are there any plans to extend it?

By the way which engines do support chess960, knowing of notations
and casteling and shuffle rules?

So the only open source engine there is glaurung, or can you think of
any other, that might hav not the strength of todays chess engines, but
supports chess960?

Jonny is currently playing, 600 games are already included with about the same number still to go.

Sometimes engines claim FRC support but it is not properly implemented, the castling rules are usually where the problem lies. I will be working my way through this list. If an engine plays properly and is reliable, and it is within 300 ELO of the current bottom ranked engine, Ayito, it will be included

This looks like you have a lot knowledge with the matter. I wonder if you
have tried glaurung to play FRC with? Does it work?

Most of these engines I do not know. It would help me a lot if you
already know if there is any open source / Linux engine under your list. I
can of course do a small google resarch too.

Glaurung plays FRC properly

Stockfish is a Glaurung derivative which may be slightly stronger than Glaurung itself.

There may be a Toga version that plays FRC, I'm not sure.

I don't know which engines run under Linux becuase I don't use it. Glaurung certainly does, that much I do know however.

I have this on my list. I modified the castling code when I eliminated the black/white duplication, with this in mind, in fact. I need to study up on the rules for setting up positions and how castling works, but it would not be that hard to add now...

Chancellor is not available for download anymore.
Chancellor was offered only as a companion for ArcBishop when ArcBishop was the only 10x8 engine around supporting WB or UCI protocol.

ChessLion was mentioned somewhere by mistake. It is a copy of experimental BigLion for my private tests.

I have had no FRC problems with Patzer 3.80 UCI at x+y time control.
Toga CMLX 1.4 beta5c, Homer 1.01, Homer 1.02 are OK.
I don't use Homer 2.xx because it wants unnecessary access to my windows registry.

I forgot that FireFly knows FRC.
Do Cyrano and Roce play FRC ?
