What hardware /hash sizes were you using? My Deep Fritz 11 on a Q6700 gives -+ 5.57 after 15 minutes of thinking time.

It will be interesting to see which (If any) engine comes closest to the solution. I should have made this a poll. Here are my results, after 8 hours of think time I clipped the analysis (Q6700). Of the engines I tested, Naum 4 has the better eval (=+ -0.28) here. However!, Also note that the Humans in the Endgame study tournanmet posted above only had 3 hours to solve 9 studies. So clearly there is still hope for mankind.

I've been running IDeA for over an hour on this with no solution. It does have 1. g5 g6+ as 0.00 but g6+ doesn't appear forced. It has 1. g5 Re1 at -0.56. (Seems like too many pieces for a nice clean study!)
