I sincerely don't care about Shredder, Fritz or Hiarcs. Always loved the way Junior played. That would be the only engine I would pay for at the moment.

And yes, Rybka is boring.

Thanks Harvey; so it would be safe to assume they will release it before/after WCCC

Did he mention why it had been delayed so much? I remember it was advertised by Chess & Bridge for July 2008, then he personally told me online that it would be ready by Xmas 2008. Hmm...

There is a version of Shredder called Shredder XP and it plays "smarter" (more strategical) than Rybka 3. It's only weakness is that it sometimes locks the position and when the position is locked there are no tactical opportunities and Shredder XP without the premove loses on time. But again, this is a weakness that all engines have including Rybka 3. Father (Pablo Ignacio Restrepo) won many games this way. But this is more of a GUI problem and I believe it can be fixed in future versions.

I'm waiting for Shredder 12 more than for Junior 11 unless Junior 11 will be a very big improvement over Junior 10 which I doubt it will be.

Does anyone know when Shredder 12 will be released?
