I think that only few people on earth have enough money to afford such a monster. Most people don't. You definitely must be rich.
Hell, I want to buy Intel core i7 965 which is more realistic for most people I think and don't have enough money even for this currently.

I think Rybka's knps is not accurate even with Rybka engines if it is using cross platform hardware. For example an Octa that is giving 300 knps and a Quadcore giving 300 knps will not be of equal strength. The Octa would be quite a bit stronger. I would assume the same with a 24 core system. If it is giving equivalent knps to an overclocked Octa 4ghz ... then I would think the 24 core would be stronger. Ofcourse other factors such as proper MP implementation with more than 8 cores could be a problem and thus disprove this. But from 4 to 8 cores it has been tested and the knps is not accurate cross platform.

Either that or the people who buy such monster computers are simply wealthy. Of course to a person who has 1,000,000 million dollars in income, a 20,000 dollar computer is nothing.Vinvin wrote:Most of the time that's computers from work(research/tests/sellers) !
For me a 20,000$ computer is very expensive and unaffordable because I'm from the middle class. That's why I'm relying more on software improvements than on hardware improvements. And with the current worldwide economic crisis I'm sure many people cannot even afford a Intel core i7 965.
