Re: Crafty 23.0 - Expected output
Makes no sense to me. Score starts off about -8 (black is winning of course) and will continue to get better. No idea what that mate in 2700 is about but it didn't come from Crafty...

Re: Crafty 23.0 - Expected output
Crafty's mate scores are different that what the Fritz GUI expects.

Re: Crafty 23.0 - Expected output
The ChessBase versions of Crafty that they release fixed this I believe. Otherwise this is probably hopeless unless it gets modified inside Crafty.Omega-three wrote:This is my set up files :Dirt wrote:Crafty's mate scores are different that what the Fritz GUI expects.

Is there a command somewhere to convert the mate output of crafty so that Fritz11 gui understands it.
Regards

Re: Crafty 23.0 - Expected output
UCI engines use the offset from 10000 (in centipawns) as the mate score, Crafty uses the offset from 32767 as the score. Since there is no standard among Winboard engines this isn't something that can be automatically handled for all engines, but according to here WB2Uci does have an option for this, and moreover it should default to making Crafty work right. Maybe it depends on the version.Omega-three wrote:Is there a command somewhere to convert the mate output of crafty so that Fritz11 gui understands it.

Re: Crafty 23.0 - Expected output
It would be nice if everybody follows the EPD standard, as apparently Crafty (and Gaviota ) does.Dirt wrote:UCI engines use the offset from 10000 (in centipawns) as the mate score, Crafty uses the offset from 32767 as the score. Crafty is working correctly.Dirt wrote:UCI engines use the offset from 10000 (in centipawns) as the mate score, Crafty uses the offset from 32767 as the score. Engines that do not report 32767 for checkmate are broken, because they are not following the PGN standard.
In my view, internally, they should use anything they feel like to symbolize checkmate. But when they report to the GUI, the answer is clear and it is written in the standard.

I assume so, but what could be causing Mike's problem? It looks like WB2Uci should handle this.Dann Corbit wrote:Crafty is working correctly.
