I am afraid this was a very chaotic event, And I even see there is an unfinished game after everyone left... Learning Lemming had to be ousted as its name was too long, and it overflowed some mamer buffer in combination with "continuing" a game, which caused mamer to crash. Sam was AFK, so we could not improvise a shorter name.

One participant used Arena, meaning he had to restart every game by hand. And as this sometimes resulted in the wrong color being assigned, mamer did not recognize the result as belonging to the tourney, and the tourney got stuck...

Fruit seemed to have connection problems, and got one forfeit because after a disconnect and reconnect it was judged to be out of time.

What a mess. This mamer needs a complete overhaul... I hope I can acheive that before next month's tourney!

I don't think that is only for Arena users. I used Winboard and have to restart for 4 or 5 games. And I remeber I saw a move from scorpio c2-c4
while it was supposed to be playing black. I quickly disconnected and joined again to play black. Hope it helps..

In that case this might be a Mamer problem rather than a GUI problem. We already noted some time ago that the color assignments of Mamer are strange; e.g. it gives a player three blacks in a row while that player's opponent had one white, one black, and could thus easily have gotten a second black. The color assignment its pairings (for which it awaits a result message) might be different from the one used in the command to start the game.

This is different from the problems Arena users are experiencing. For them the game just _never_ starts automatically. The game starts but their engine just does not move.
