Greetings,
After a great deal of patient guidance from Ron Murawski, a fair amount of inspiration thanks to Olivier Deville's OpenWar tournament, and lots of testing by Lars Hallerstrom, Myrddin version 0.82 is now ready for public release.
The engine now plays about 1900 against other engines. This is an improvement of more than 200 points since the previous release from four months ago.
You can download the latest version by going to:

Many thanks again to Ron Murawski for hosting the site, and to several other brilliant people for assisting me in chat and/or making their source code available.

Re: Myrddin 0.82 release
Thanks for the release. You might want to test the engine with the latest EPD "Re-Capturing" at http://sites.google.com/site/strategict ... -capturing
One further note is that I'm no longer updating googlepages, I'm now currently using Google site - so would like it if you linked the test suite download to google site instead, in your page.

Re: Myrddin 0.82 release
Hi Swami,
I've updated the links. I'm also going to be more consistent from now on with your tests, and use 1m per position for all of them.
Thanks for your terrific test suites!

I doubt either of us will live that long.

Re: Myrddin 0.82 release
Hi Swami,
I have now run Myrddin on the Open Files/Diagonals and Re-Capturing suites, and have updated my site with those results. I have also changed the results of the Undermining and Outpost suites because they are now being tested at 1m per position like the other four.
Thanks for your hard work!
