Today I tried to reinstall my last Fritz again. It is Fritz 8. At that time of Fritz 8 I switched to Arena because for enginetournaments Arena is the better choice.

Fritz looks a little bit better, and the server functions are nice.

But right now, I remember why I didn't use Fritz anymore:

-Changing UCI parameters - crash.
-Loading Glaurung - can't see all parameters, and can't see the OK button.
-Import of an old Fritz.fbk - Weights missing
-some server games - opponents time running out, I lost.

Ahh. I remember... Updates... OK...

-Last GUI8.iup into the Fritz folder - Running IUpgrade.exe.
-Fritz says: Can't upgrade, put the Update into the Fritz folder

IT IS IN THE F$CKING FRITZ FOLDER. And now?

My Chessprogramm8.exe is gone. No joke, it was somwhere during the update deleted. But OK, Fritz made an Backup. I rename the Backup to chessprogramm8.exe. Starting Fritz again, see screenshot:

This all did not happen in last weeks or month, it happened in the last hour...

I can't say anything about Fritz 12, but I doubt I will buy it. All I need to do I can do with Scid and Arena.

Well I must have been lucky. I've never had any serious issues with the many versions of Fritz that I've bought. I'm picking that most people haven't, otherwise the company wouldn't exist.

What seems like a fairy tale today may be reality tomorrow.

Next weekend as in Oct 3rd? Your are sure of this?

Do you know whether it will be via chessbase or just direct from Shredder website?

Sorry I didn't I was meant. You will not get a mate score, it's about the score not the move. What score do you get ?

This is what I get with my engine. I let it run for while. After ~7 min (443 seconds, ply 12) the score is +13.28 and the PV seems correct (Black avoids the third underpromotion by playing Ke2).

Hi,

Now you all have a test to test which engine knows underpromotions and which doesn't. Yours is good. Ignacio is saying this is a mate in 25. This one appeared as a study as far as I know.

I think the point is to see the under promotions. If the PV given is correct, I guess it's mate in 22 or so, which at best would take awhile.
