Large Vote On Chess Software

Post by Glarean »

.

Since today there is a large vote in the "Glarean Magazine".

These are the 4 questions:

a) Which are your favorite engines?

b) How do you work with your chess programmes?

c) Which are your favorite interfaces?

d) How much a chess programme should be?

The Poll:

Poll runs for two months.
Thanks for your choice.

Regards: Walter

Very interesting! My favourite engines today are Rybka, Shedder, Stockfish and I'll now vote them a hundred times:) Can you detect the enthusiastic voter's fraud?

I voted for micro-Max, of course. The entire game of chess condensed in a mere 100 lines of code! 8-)

Excellent! Is micro-Max a good chance for me to become a chess programmer? I like Visual Basic!

Well, micro-Max is written in C. But it is well commented, and about 30 pages of explanation of the source code are presented on my website. So indeed I do consider it a model program for a beginning Chess programmer.

Worked fine for me.

For the record favourite engines are Pro Deo, Stockfish, Sjeng and Rybka. It was difficult deciding which one to leave out!

Favourite GUI, Shredder by a long way.
