Zappa 1.1 engine book

Post by Spock »

Does anyone know where an engine book (not GUI book) can be downloaded for the free Zappa 1.1 ? Or what format it uses and how one can be created from a pgn database ?

Did you try making and using the learning book mechanism that came with Zappa 1.0 Ray?

Might be useful, not sure although.

There is also this in the Zappa 1.0 ini file......

Code: Select all

#book: path to opening book
#book ../../book/gm2600.zbook
#book ../../book/tournament.zbook
book ../../book/public.zbook
#book_require_human_move 1

#bookline: line zappa will always play. (only the last move).
# example: to make Zappa always play the Ruy Lopez as white
# bookline e4
# bookline e4 e5 Nf3
# bookline e4 e5 Nf3 Nc6 Bb5
#
# at most 128 booklines can be used.
# If multiple booklines point to the same position,
# Zappa will choose evenly.
#bookline e4 #aggressive play in the opening!
#bookline d4 #almost as good!
#bookline d4 Nf6 #play hypermodern indian openings

#avoidline line zappa will never play. (only the last move)
# example: to make Zappa never play the French defense
# avoidline e4 e6
#
# at most 128 avoidlines can be used.
# Zappa may play an avoidline out of search. For example, if
# Zappa has no book, it may play the line, or if the avoidline
# reaches farther than the book.
#avoidline e4 e6 #avoid French
#avoidline e4 c6 #avoid Caro-Kann

I don't have Zappa 1.0, and it is not available for download on the Zappa web page

Zappa 1.1 ini file is very similar to that

Here's one, haven't tried it, and it may be for a later Zappa - if that matters.

Well I do have a book for Zappa, but I am not sure it can be distributed.

I'll try that, thanks Charles

Olivier - no problem, I'll see if this one works. All it has to do is play the first 8 or 10 moves or so.
