Just for my interest, for the records and not to use test suites to determine engine strength.

Code: Select all

Strategic Test Suite: Shredder 12

MacBook Pro, 2 GB RAM, 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
PolyGlot 1.4.39b, 10 seconds per position
Engine: 128MB Hash, 1 Thread, 64 Bits

STS (v1.0) - Undermining:
85/100, Grade: S

STS (v2.0) - Open Files and Diagonals:
76/100, Grade: A+

STS (v3.0) - Knight Outposts/Centralization/Repositioning:
75/100, Grade: A+

STS (v4.0) - Square Vacancy:
80/100, Grade: S

STS (v5.0) -Bishop vs Knight:
80/100, Grade: S

STS (v6.0) -Re-Capturing:
69/100, Grade: B+

Overall Performance:
Total Score: 465/600 (77.5 %), Grade: A+
And an interesting result for the older release ;)

Interesting indeed. Thank you for running the test.

Square Vacancy contributed much towards its improvement. Can't believe that older version is only 73 in that... I thought many freewares surpassed that limit in square vacancy...

Stefan realised where the weakness lies, and improved mobility? and preference for aggressive/open fight... now that's certainly something to do Square Vacancy.

This can imply that square vacancy is really more important - twice as much as Re-capturing + Bishop/Knight combined.

This _might_ be one of the "secrets" of the new release, but there must be more if you look at the Deep Shredder 12 thread. Shredder 12 seems to be a real killer!

Good job SMK :!:
