once again the issue becomes moderation
and from a former moderator no less
the decision was made a week ago when the first thread appeared
we stand by the decision today..a week later

each day we discuss how bad the moderation team's decision was
a week ago we were wrong because we allowed any open discussion
the next day we are wrong because we did not allow links
yesterday..we are wrong because we allowed discussion
today we are wrong again for not allowing links
etc..etc...Ad Nausea

To Date..Three former CCC moderators have weighed in as best as i can tell

one characterized our decision as shameful,irresponsible and supporting piracy
you have opined twice now that were are wrong to not allow linkage... the complete opposite opinion
and another former CCC moderator posted that we made exactly the right decision

pretty much how it has gone
full discussion with linkage...suppress all open discussion
my own personal gripe in all of this is as a former moderator you yourself know how hard it is to strike a good balance and how impossible it is to please everyone and yet you complain about the moderation and do not discuss the issue itself(clone..no clone..etc..etc).

truthfully i think only those that complain speak out and the ones that agree remain silent..that is the prerogative of the general membership
but you as a former moderator ..to open a thread JUST to complain about moderation..now THAT is IMHO ..

I am sorry if I perturbed you and the others mods in a personal base. I do not qualify your decision of a week ago, I know you cannot please everybody. Neither I am asking from you the address. It is available everywhere.
It was just a comment about how things change so much that a fair decision one week ago becomes out of place a week later. Today it is moot.

Not that it helps very much of course. The complaints continue wanting mention of "ippolit" (and the derivative too) to be removed, deleted, nuked, burned at the stake, etc. Others complain when we do.

Somewhat like a referee in a ball game that makes a key call. Half the fans think it was wrong, the other half say "about time you opened your eyes...".

Areed as well! It is impossible to keep everyone happy and I think this has been handled very well. These issues are bound to come up and healthy debate is always good so long it stays civil.
