please do not talk about things before you think it in depth.
thank you.

Well, crafty is the most science-based chess engine i know.
Because of that, i dont see any dead end streets refering to its
playing strength.

(maybe contrary to some very strong other engines, fine tuned
in its features, but stucking because of too much specialism,
which will lead most of the time into my so called dead end streets.)

I think crafty,Bob,his philosophy of developing crafty is a gain for all
chess programmers out there. Including those who already have
higher elo rated engines.

I think Bob should migrate some useful ideas from Stockfish and IPPLITE to Crafty directly and start from there. Crafty is an open source engine, following GPL, so are Stockfish and IPPLITE. It's OK to migrate ideas directly from each other. Why do the same job twice.

Stockfish 1.6 is very strong. There is a very long road for Crafty to get there. If Bob joins stockfish team, cluster can be used to develop new stockfish. Rybka will be in danger in the near future. Crafty is so weak that it's meaningless to develop it with cluster. People who is wise will do the best shot with best gun.
I like that logic.
Let's all work together on 1 engine only
This would also make for easy engine-engine tests...
CCRL and CEGT lists would be very short

Has your Elo increased by 20 points ? :)

.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Crafty is not GPL. However, it's generally ok to use ideas from Stockfish in any program.
