Why change a winning team ?
Should the upcoming CCC elections be postponed by 6 months ?
The vote is scheduled to take place on January 15.

Re: postponing the upcoming elections.
If you don't want them to change, re-elect them. Elections are a good thing, even when the results confirm the status quo.Matthias Gemuh wrote:Why change a winning team ?

I think the mods are OK, but I don't believe you should change the rules in the middle of the game. So I vote no. Keep in mind I can't vote yet in the upcoming election though I would like to vote--must be here at least 3 months. Hope we don't get a dictator who judges without evidence, but by feelings.Matthias Gemuh wrote:Why change a winning team ?

Re: postponing the upcoming elections.
Thanks for the compliment Matthias
However i must say that elections should not be postponed
its the way of this forum to elect new mods every 6 months
a deeply embedded tradition that makes this forum different from all other forums..anywhere
Especially different from the commercial sites where mods are appointed from above
on a personal note ...
i have been serving for 13 Months now as moderator
when i first took my seat at the moderation desk
back in Dec 08 the forums were engaged in a raging controversy
there were various controversies during my 13 month tenure as mod
and as i leave my seat we again are under a swirling controversy
it is the nature of this place for there to be spirited debate
and that is a good thing..
Personally ..for me..its time i moved on
while i consider it a high honor to have been elected to two consecutive terms by the good members here
i do look forward to becoming a civilian again and actually be able to log on here and not have a PM box (or a complaint panel) filled with complaints from both sides of the issues
my only hope is that we have a representative selection of
candidates that agree to run..who hold views representing both sides of the isle here
my concern is that only a few will be interested in taking on the oft times thankless job of moderating and they will all be from one viewpoint on the issues which does not really give the members much of a choice
Best Regards
Steve

OK, the trend of the poll is already clear:
- some people would like the vote postponed to keep the mod team.
- other people would like to keep the mod team by re-election.
Thanks for participating in the poll,
Matthias.
