Daydreamer 1.61 finds it at depth 14 after about 45s:
info multipv 1 depth 14 seldepth 30 score cp -8 time 45458 nodes 29550418 qnodes 20265162 pvnodes 1126 nps 650000 hashfull 1000 tbhits 0 pv g2h3 c7d6 c5e4 d6e7 e4g5 f7f6 f2f4 e7c5 g1h1 e5f4 g5e4 c5e7 e4f6 e7f6 g3f4 d5f4

The current development version finds it at depth 15 after 25s:
info multipv 1 depth 15 seldepth 34 score cp -33 time 24750 nodes 15045632 nps 607000 hashfull 998 tbhits 0 pv g2h3 c7d6 c5e4 d6e7 e4g5 f7f6 d2b2 a8e8 f2f4 e7b4 g5e4 f6f8 f4e5 b6a4 b2c2

Neither one switches away once they've found it. They're both quite pessimistic about white's position, though. Even at higher depths they give white only a very slight edge. My eval function needs a lot of work :(

I think many top engines give significant scores difference between the 1st best move and the 2nd best move with the evaluation difference of nearly 0.25-0.30.

If your engine begins to draw a fine line between 1st and 2nd best move with significant evaluation scores, I believe it will just get stronger and stronger. :-)

How long until your engine sees Bh3? (It takes a while for h5 to fade).
I am wondering if any engine sees it before ply 19.
Rybka took about 1/2 hour on my hardware, and IvanHoe about a minute.
The (M)ystery (D)edicated (C)omputer....currently engaged in a titanic struggle of epic proportions against the CCC Forum...

http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopi ... 465#327465

wants to play h5 after 52 minutes...and a 7 ply Brute and 19 ply selective search..showing and Eval of -.18

i will let it run for several more Hrs as 52 minutes for a dedicated computer is..
Early Yet Regards

Interesting that Stockfish 163s has analysis that is extremely similar to "Johndig's".

How long until your engine sees Bh3? (It takes a while for h5 to fade).
I am wondering if any engine sees it before ply 19.
Rybka took about 1/2 hour on my hardware, and IvanHoe about a minute.

Hi Dann,

Following is Rybka results after letting it crunch for 72 hours. What version of Rybka did you use Dann?
I used Rybka 3.0 with 4 CPUs at 3.0 GHz, 2 GB hash tables.
My results are so much differnet then yours?
You did not analyze the position that is posted here. Notice in your key move the rook starts at g5 and moves to h5. Now look at the picture above. There is no rook on g5 for either side.
