Concerning Ktulu 9 (CCT 12)

Post by Dayffd »

I noticed Ktulu 9 is an entrant with the author and one other as operators. On the Lokasoft website this current version of Ktulu, 9, is indicated as being the last version of this engine to be produced/released as the author has or is withdrawing from computer chess. As this engine, which I like very much btw, is apparently being operated by the author and one other, this suggests to me that the author may possibly still retain some interest in computer chess. This in turn indicates that maybe, just maybe, his interest may be rekindled, he may return, and (please :)) even fiddle some with the engine to produce an even stronger version 10.
My question is: Is this too convoluted or is there some faint hope for a new version? :)

I think that there is hope David :D

May I request an MP version of this engine, if the author is still developing it ? I am not really interested in a single core engine, the way things are right now.
Surely Mr Rahman must do something about it, or not ?

What does Ktulu play like? I'm guessing you like it because of the style

I received this from Rahman today (3 Feb 2010). I assume he has no objection to my reprinting it here:

Hello Marek,

I had no decision to stop Ktulu's developing. I am just too
busy at the moment for working on Ktulu. Maybe and I hope so,
one daye I would have enough time to release a new version.

Best regards
Rahman

Hi,

yes!
I have some contact with Rahman too.
He is very busy at the moment.

Rahman don't lost his interest on computer chess. That's clear.

Best
