LittleChessEvaluationCompendium

Post by Lyudmil Tsvetkov »

Hi all.
I have compiled a LittleChessEvaluationCompendium.
Thanks to Thomas Mayer, the German programmer of Quark,
the compendium is now available for download at http://www.winboardengines.de/doc/Littl ... endium.pdf The last version is from March 8th 2010.
I have the intention to expand the compendium in the future,
if I hopefully have the time.
I would be very happy if some programmers found a couple of ideas that would be new or maybe untested.
Just for the record - I am 35 years old, diplomat,
4 or 5 years ago I used to play in tournaments and had a rating
around 2200 Elo. Nowadays I do not play any more competitive chess,
but have still kept my engine sparring interest and when I now play
against engines 2 minutes plus 2 seconds increment per move blitz games
my rating seems to hover around 2400 (this is just to suggest that not everything in the compendium is complete bullshit).
Apart from that, I do not know how to write a single line of code
and I am not a very good computer user too - just knowing how to install Fritz and many UCI engines in it:)

Best regards, Ludmil

PS. Many thanks again to Thomas Mayer and Jim Ablett for agreeing to host my stuff and especially to Thomas Mayer who thought that maybe this was worth publishing. I actually do not know where on Jim's engines site the file should be as, for some strange reason, I do not have access to his site.

I will post this on English, so others don't felt ignored. Regarding Pawny, if you have any problems, PM me anytime and I will help!
I'm really excited about the article, and when I have more time, I will devote it on a deeper objective reading and considering of the mentioned values and efficient ways of computation.
Many thanks and best wishes!

Hi Mincho,
First of all, many greetings for being the first bulgarian computer chess programmer.
At least little by little to wash our shame.
I tried to play with earlier version of Pawny, but it was not moving unless I press Enter after every move.
I am sure that the curent progam is much better.

I hope that you don't have anything against my translation Mincho :D
Cheers,
Dr.D
