I haven't tested Daydreamer in engine vs engine matches. I'd like to just to see how clearly the result parallels the one that was posted.

I'd think that it's on par with Ruffian 1.05, Movei, Bugchess, Delfi, Aristarch.
Just did a quick 1+1 gauntlet. Doing Ok in the tests. It's on par with these engines, maybe even better. I shall continue this test till 150 games played.

Interesting results, Swami, thanks for posting them. It looks like your strength estimate was pretty good.

Thanks, Aaron.

Also, note that all these engines (except Daydreamer) were playing with their own book in Sedat's Top 50 Opening Test Suite.

If the opening books were turned off, I believe Daydreamer would score even more, in the range of 110-to-120/180

Code: Select all

 Engine              Score                               Da
1: Daydreamer_175_rc1  99.5/180 ······························
2: Ruffian_105         16.5/30  00===111==010110=01101=1111000
3: LemmingSwami0.30x32 14.0/30  1=1=10=0===0=0010=01010=101=01
3: Aristarch 4.50      14.0/30  1=0=01=01000111==0==1=00010110
5: Movei00_8_446       13.0/30  =0==000=0111010=0=1===01011=00
6: Pro Deo 1.6         12.0/30  000000==01=101100111010===0=0=
7: Delfi 5.3           11.0/30  =0=10010001001===1=00100=0=100

Thanks, it's great to see some CEGT results. I'm cleaning up a few small things and trying some small optimizations right now. Once I've tested everything to make sure that I haven't weakened the engine (some time in the next few days, unless something goes very wrong), I'll ask Jim Ablett to make some optimized compiles and do an official release.
