Thanks Aaron. Your comment means a lot because those two have been my priorities.

We need to get Dann a Mac, or find a Mac user (whom programmers trust with their source codes) to provide OS X binaries of chess engines.

Running Windows binaries via Wine (usually) works, but it would be nice to have native OS X binaries.
I'm happy to help anyone who wants to create Mac binaries, either by producing them myself or by helping authors with Mac-specific compile issues (not that there should be very many).
I may use your expertise...

It used to be that UCI was far easier to configure. With the latest Winboard specifications, configuration is equally easy with Winboard and UCI.

The one drawback is that most Winboard engines cannot perform the new Winboard commands.

Correct.

I updated the screen shot for the configuration in Xboard.

In fact, there is one small thing WB can do something that UCI can't (correct me if I am wrong): the user can press a button (for instance, TB test), and a pop up window returns the results (The test passed, failed etc.).

Miguel,

Thanks for giving me official "credit" for testing.

I like testing and promoting gaviota, because of the work you have done with tablebases and the the fact that you are making them easily available to engine authors.
