I read in a spanish forum that WinChess2000 would be around 100 ELO points above the WChess 1994 version, which I tested for CCRL (I noticed a mistake, I named it WChess 1.6 instead of WChess 1.06, it will be change in the next CCRL update) : http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/4040/c ... WChess_1_6
2445 ELO points (but few games).

I think WinChess2000 only works under ChessGenius GUI/plataform.

On the other hand, SSDF has included WinChess2000 and WChess 1.06 in their list:
129 140 WChess2000 64MB P200 MMX 2362
169 WChess 1.06 Pentium 90 MHz 2235
(http://ssdf.bosjo.net/rlwww101.txt)

I hope it helps.

Regards.

Or even you must be a GM :D:

WChess received world-wide attention after it scored 5 out of 6 against some of the strongest American grandmasters in the Intel Harvard Cup Man v Machine tournament held in October 1994. The program consolidated its position as one of the top micro-computer chess programs by winning the 1994 Uniform Platform Computer Chess Tournament held in London.

(see 5th Harvard Cup)

WChess performance was around 2800 in 25 minutes games!!

Sure your experience in computer vs. human games makes a difference.

I am astonished after reading this information

I played the 2 games under the impression that on nowadays hardware it will play around 1700-1800 at best....see the psychological foundation I was attached to made the difference beside my experience in computer vs. human games....now I will play without this psychological advantage and probably will get worse performance against this program....I'm talking seriously 8-)
Cheers,

I'm begining to think that you are talking about "other" WinChess: http://winchess2.free.fr/english/

Fern ask for the famous David Kittinger best program: WinChess2000 aka MajesticChess aka PowerChess. A killer!!

Now I see you was talking of WChess by Kitinger. This winchess is another thing.

I personally believe it is around 1800-1900

Otherwise I could not get it in my scalp belt.
