HS-Masterbook 3.0.ctg

Post by Le Fou numerique »

Hi,

Harry Schnapp published a 'monstrous' openings book 1Gb format *.ctg.

Download link.

There is a "readme" in the archive for the settings.

Patrick

Good for Harry, but Sedat Conbaz's opening books are way too superior and optimized than Harry's opening books....this not an opinion, this is a fact based on a close observation of every opening book published by these two authors....will put this one under the microscope to see how it fares against Sedat's latest creation....

I wonder how you observe closely a 1GB book... or even a 10 MB one.

I have been using Harry's books for years. The only thing I have against them is lack of variety. Sedat's lates book (Perfect-2010) seems better in this regard. My current practice is to shift books every now and then.

What I miss most in all books is the lack of classic lines like Gioco Piano, 3 Knights. I also miss Aljechin and Grünfeld. I am a bit fed up with Lucena, Sicilian, Queens and Kings Indian.
I'd love to see more Scandinavians, Bird's, Polish and others like the Ponziani and Larsen. :P

I am surprised by the lack of these classic openings except for Alekhine as it seems it's not a competitive opening for black....

The Scandinavian Defence is an awesome opening system for black with a lot of interesting positional ideas later in the middlegame....I play it a lot myself against the strong chess engines and it seems to payback good....

I use H.S. books and also Sedat book.
There are many diff. opening books you can use. I like to try
diff. ones. At Arena there are a few good ones.

Best,
Gerold.

Hi,
I played this opening a lot in the past and then I abandoned it for a long time....then I realized that I left behind an amazing opening system for black and started all over again :D
