Thanks for the engine information. Is there an opening book for Jonny also, that can be used under Arena?
Thanks,
Gerald

You can use a general-purpose arena book or any arena book with an engine.

By the way, has anyone experienced some difficulties so far to run Jonny in any chessbase GUI ? Because as for me; Jonny as UCI engine under Fritz doesn't load at all ... :cry:
And I hjave noticed that, Jonny under winboard, doesn't run as an UCI engine ... but simply as an winboard one ! But the problem, even as a winboard engine, I don't know which parameters to add... (I have even tried to add the old settings.ini of Jonny 2.83 in new Jonny 4.00 but without success :cry:

Jonny has a pgn2book command in console mode that lets you create a book from a .pgn file. Before trying to import a book, you must first issue a uci command in console mode. Then issue the pgn2book command (supplying the PGN file name as a parameter), answer the prompts, and let Jonny process the book, then issue a writebook command to write the book to a file, with the file name as a parameter to the writebook command. Then, create a settings.ini file in a text editor and put the following line in it:

bookFile=mybook.bk

Replace mybook.bok with whatever you named the book file. And voila, you should have an ownbook for Jonny.
