I ported Shokidoki 0.9x to Linux, and added an i386 Linux binary to the downloads, at http://home.hccnet.nl/h.g.muller/shokidoki.html . After unzipping it, and placing the binary in /usr/games, it should be possible to run it with
xboard -fcp shokidoki -variant shogi
Shokidoki now also available as Linux binary
