Number of Rounds for Michael's Tournament?

Post by Dave Mitchell »

Three or four rounds per day is dreadfully few rounds to decide a champion.

What do you think about having automated over-night games? This might double the number of rounds in the tournament.

In the event of a technical problem, the team leader will be called.

1) Yes, it's long overdue.

2) No, I'm counting on luck.

There is the possibility of making this a much larger event by having the unlimited hardware on one weekend and the uniform on the next. Authors can then choose to attend one or both of the events. The authors that stay the entire time can take part in plenty of side events during the week including workshops, lectures and whatever.
If you are on a sidewalk and the covid goes beep beep
Just step aside or you might have a bit of heat
Covid covid runs through the town all day
Can the people ever change their ways

Just one advice. Don't spread yourself thin. You will only be competing with yourself. Choose one formula, and stick to that. I think it would be a mistake to have both a uniform and an unlimited hardware event.

Thanks for your input HG!

What if it were setup that, 'enter one, not both'?

The little guys can choose to play with the big guys if they want.

The big guys with monster hardware probably would not be interested in the uniform division anyway.

This might get a larger overall attendance. :?:
