Sure i see the diference, the "Tupolev Tu-144" crashed and my free engines
never crash, on the other hand my smelly fish crashes all the time,.... sorry... fruity fish.
Hi,

How many engines must a wise man test before he sees the clones

For us at Arena it is matter of minutes..

Mr. Wise man,

The problem is right now that nobody can come along and develop a free strong program (special when it's stronger than Rybka) without Vasik Rajlich's puppy dogs yelling “Clone” (I see only free new chess engines that possibly used some of his ideas in its code)
At the same time, no proof is being offered that these new free stronger chess engines have in anyway violated anyone’s copyrights. To ask for that proof will in fact get you labeled as "not a wise man" and supporter of illegal activity.
Gods are fragile things; they may be killed by a whiff of science or a dose of common sense.

Hi,

you can saywhatever you want. The problem is that at Arena you get serious information and on the fora of your "friends" you read something like "Arena will not be released anymore" It is just a matter of seriosity.
I recommend you read the interviews at the Arena page with people involved in this issue who are not afraid to tell you their names and who stand up for their opinion.

It will end at the moment one of the so-called "cloned" engines makes +50 elo to R4 and when 2-3 other engines surpass R4, so Rybka is not even top 3. I would give it 6 moths to 1 year. For the moment it's just last effort smear campaign from supporters of the engine rapidly loosing ground.
See you next Christmas ;).

I think this will happen in about 6 months from now, maybe less I hope :D
As for Rybka's latest tournament achievements, don'r forgot the fact that it's using a monster hardware to keep it's leadership....
