I would be interested in what browser you are using because I have not had that issue come up yet.ppetrov wrote:The dark background is fine. The low contrast however is not - text color should be brighter.
Also, there is an issue with the site header. It seems designed for very large resolutions only, ignoring the more common ones. E.g. on my 1360 horizontal pixels the section links overlap with the TCEC logo/text on the left.
The "Old TCEC" archive is in the forum.Paloma wrote:The background is much to dark.
And the Archive has gone?
Thanks, appreciated!M ANSARI wrote:Actually I checked out the site in the beginning and didn't like at all the circuit board look. I just checked it and it looks great now. I prefer darker color as it relaxes the eye, and at the moment on my laptop it looks great and color is not too bad and text is very legible. I guess it would still look good if the shade was a little lighter, maybe on some browsers the color rendering is different. I checked with Chrome and IE 8.
Firefox 3.6.13 and Chrome 9.0.597.19 under Linux. It looks bad:Martin Thoresen wrote:I would be interested in what browser you are using because I have not had that issue come up yet.ppetrov wrote:The dark background is fine. The low contrast however is not - text color should be brighter.

Thanks Peter!ppetrov wrote: Firefox 3.6.13 and Chrome 9.0.597.19 under Linux. It looks bad:

I guess the reason is in the CSS font-family that you have used. It's fine on Windows, but not cross-platform-friendly.

I'll fix this, stay tuned.
Not completely Under Chrome it's ok for me, yes:Martin Thoresen wrote:Peter,
It should be fixed now for users of *nix as well.
Sorry Peter, I forgot to update one thing regarding the menu in the forum css.ppetrov wrote: Not completely Under Chrome it's ok for me, yes:

But under Firefox there is still some overlap:

This is of course only a cosmetic defect, but I thought I'd let you know. The site is usable anyway. Including some CSS reset rules should fix such inconsistencies between browsers.
P.S. According to W3Counter the most popular screen resolution is still 1024x768 Our stats at ChessBomb put it in second place, closely behind 1280x800.
