On-line blitz tourney March

Post by hgm »

The on-line engine blitz tourney for March will take place

Saturday March 12, 3pm EST (21:00 CET)

Be there 15 min in advance!

winboard -zp -ics -icshost 80.100.28.169 -icshelper timeseal -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

should do it! (Unless you are UCI; in that case add -fUCI as well!)

HG - Ray is hoping to run some different engines, but is awaiting a reply to the email he sent you.

Is this a server that is up all the time?

I wouldn't mind testing Crafty there.

It is up all the time, but beware there are no people there, and outside appointed times also not many engines. It has never been my aim to start an ICS with a large user base of human Chess players.

My reasons for running this ICS are:

1) It is _technically_ better for engine play, as it captures Kibitzed score/depth info, and includes them in the PGN.
2) It supports a wider range of board sizes and piece types for variants than freechess.org, such as Gothic Chess, Grand Chess, Courier, Knightmate, Xiangqi.
