Dirty 24APR2011 released

Post by Andres Valverde »

Hi,

New Dirty 24APR2011 is available at :

http://www.dirtychess.com/downloads.php

Changes :
  • 32 & 64 bit Windows and Linux versions
    Changes in search.
Eval modified. Eval DLL is not needed anymore
    Bugs fixed
New command line switch : -egbb5men (will use the complete
5 men of Scorpio's bitbases, otherwise it will use by default
    4 men)
A preliminary version played last OW8 contest :

http://www.open-aurec.com/chesswar/Open ... stable.htm

We hope this final one is a bit stronger :-)

Feedback is welcome, as usual. Thanks in advance.

The Dirty Team.
Saludos, Andres

Thanks Andres.

I am considering Dirty for TCEC. Do you usually name the different revisions with such a long string?

Best,
Martin

Thx for your interest Martin. Well, we do like that name convention as we share a lot of compiles, but I agree that it could be shortened somehow :-)

I think that xpdnt uses a convention that will convert it to "Dirty 110424". Year first, month, day (like chinese do). The bigger the newer.

You can count on Dirty in TCEC Season 3.

Is there any way I can verify that the Scorpio Bitbases are used?

I get no different output in endgame positions with or without them.
I've set the path etc in command line, as well as using 2 GB hash.

Also, the log says "Detected no Nalimov EGTBs" so I am a bit confused,
does Dirty use Nalimov or Scorpio?

Best,
Martin

Might still be too long for Martin?
Maybe better to do the math and convert the date to Hex?
