cheng3 1.02b (64-bit fix)

Post by mar »

Hi all, this is (again) a bugfix release. Sorry for that. It fixes the 64-bit version (contains 64-bit pgo build as well) + fixed readme. Hopefully there won't be another release for quite some time.
Those who only want 32-bit version can still use the 1.02 executable. There is zero change in strength.
The 64-bit version should be ~35% faster so not by much.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for your new engine. However, the 64 bit version doesn't load under Win XP 64+Arena 3.0. The 32 bit version works well. Of course I downloaded the last version...

Best regards,
Mircea

Oh no, not again... I thought the 64-bit version is fixed now. I tested it in console and it worked, node count to depth same as 32-bit version. It differs only in a few lines of code so I don't know what might be causing problems  Have you tried to load it directly and try some commands like uci?

Yes, Martin, I loaded it under command prompt and the same error occurs (incompatible Windows versions); ...and believe me, I do have win xp x64.

In that case, I have to look into it. Damn I thought the problem has been finally solved. Instead, I embarassed myself (again) with a non-working 64-bit version . Sorry for that. I don't have access to a 64-bit OS myself.

Best

The latest compile seemed to work OK for me, in Win 7 x64.
