cheng3 1.03 released

Post by mar »

Hi all, a new version of cheng3 is available at http://www.vlasak.biz/cheng
Slightly faster, some bugs fixed. Should be 20+elo stronger than 1.02.

Enjoy

You're welcome :)
I'm still hoping for +40 which means it should reach (or get close to) 2500 in your rating list

The 1.02 version has passed the 2500 Elo barrier with +400 games played at long time controls ...will report soon....
Cheng3 1.03 will take on from there :D

Ahem... latest cheng3 just suffered an embarassing draw (with white) against old owlchess which reaches 6-8 plies in midgame, at 10 sec per move.
Final position: 7R/1k5P/1P6/8/8/7r/3K4/8 b - - 12 (perpetual check); sorry I don't know how to post board image :(
Isn't chess beautiful? It reminds me of Capablanca's "one move ahead" :D

Hi Martin,
I have here a problem with cheng. The game was lost in time (sorry - not the only one). But here I even cannot continue the game inside Shredder GUI. Cheng does not move.
I guess there is something wrong with 3fold repetition or/and with time control.

Best wishes
Werner
