On-line blitz tourney April

Post by hgm »

The on-line engine tourney for April will be held on

Saturday April 21, 3am EST (21:00 CET)

To connect, use the command

winboard -zp -ics -icshost 80.100.28.169 -fcp ENGINE.exe -fd ENGINEFOLDER -autoKibitz

(and for UCI engines, add -fUCI). A good opprtunity to test your new WinBoard 4.6.2!

Hello,

Could be a good idea to post next online tourney announcement in the "Tournament and Match section", or even on "General topic" :D

Well, historically it is posted here, because it started mainly as an appeal to engine authors. (Although other participants are of course welcome.) So this is the place where people have come to expect it. Problem with posting in the general section is that the post usually disapears from the front page within about 12 hours, so it would go mostly unnoticed.

Yes I understand but try to do so and I am sure more Authors and Operators will be aware and will be able to save the date.

Perhaps there should be a sticky 'Calender' thread in the General section reserved for just this purpose?

two things:

1) how about a calendar forum instead of a calendar thread.
2) You had a typo in your advertisement. You said 3 am instead of 3 pm. 3am EST != 21:00 CET.
