Here black has just blundered with 26...c4? so now white has to decide between 27. Rxd4 or h5 both of which are winning. However which one is stronger and which one does your engine prefer to play? |
Hello Mc Mad, here is the result I got last night with an experimental modified verification search as described in the thread from Lucas Braesch. It shows a third possibility for a move that Critter also wanted to play and should be winning, then it goes to one of your other moves. A computer is never afraid of miscalculating so it has very different ideas about what is the best way to win. Its weakness is of course 'ideas'. Fischer went for the 'idea' move h5. But the moves can also transpose. And if Mike says it is a forced mate with h5 being faster probably, then my theory about an idea move is shattered of course I don't know, I was mainly interested in the new search I must confess but I don't have any data to compare yet.
Regards, Eelco
