:( :(
It's a real shock he is not anymore with us. :(
Perhaps one day all we will meet again.
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

I've had several communications with Don including an enjoyable phone call. Wanted to meet him and I am saddened to hear of his passing. I think Don was a fine person that will be missed. He certainly accomplished quite a bit.

My condolences to his family and friends.

My condolence to his relatives and Komodo team.
I have asked many questions here, specifically linux related, and those were
thoroughly answered by Don. He was one of the top-notch programmers in
here, though I have not met him in person I know he is really a very good
man by just reading his posts in here.

I'm sure talkchess and computer chess community will miss him.

I am heavy-hearted since days about this.
Must thinking on the interview I made with Don and all the nice mails I got from him.

Or on Leiden 1997 / 1998 I try to speak with him in my bad english ... I am sure he understand 20% of my "Frankish" but he was very very friendly to me. In Leiden 1997 or 1998 (not sure) Don was the event, not the event Leiden... Don!

Such an modest men, like Don ... sorry to many of the other computer chess people ... but this is rarely. Means such attitudes.

Without Don computer chess loses many development power and
ideas.

In German:
Wir haben einen großartigen Menschen verloren, der mit seiner unvergleichbaren lieben Art immer auch in unseren Herzen gestanden hat.

Thanks for all what you do for us, be sure ... I will never forget it.

If others like to read this interview Don gave ...

This is utterly sad news. Don was one of the great ones. A great programmer and a nice, funny and helpful guy. I enjoyed his posts a lot. It helps to see that Don was a believing man. The end is then not just the end. My thoughts are with his loved ones. Have strength at this difficult hour.
Thanks Don,
Kaj
