Re: The progress of Stockfish engine (a comparative test)

Hello folks !

Conditions:

-TC = 4'+2"
-Hash = 128 MB
-Book = Shredder12.ctg
-GUI = Fritz 11
-CPU = Athlon 64 3800+

Komodo 8 (1288 build) and Stockfish 5 were linked to Syzygy Bases. Stockfish 031114 hasn't a such version.

=====================

Stockfish 031114 = an amazing chess engine ! The best I have on 32-bit !

Simply: B_R_A_V_O !

Re: Nemeton 1 w32 - my first test (+ a bonus) !

Post by Sylwy »

Hello !

-TC = 4'+2"
-Main hash = 128 MB (+ Nalimov cache for Chispa 4.0.3)
-Book = Perfect_2010.abk
-GUI = Arena 3.0
-CPU = Athlon 64 3800+

Chispa 4.0.3 was linked to Nalimov TBs.

Chispa 4.0.3 has 2202 Elo on CCRL 4/40.

After this - short test - I think Nemeton 1 has around 2110 Elo - an expert level !

The second test will be a tournament in four: Nemeton 1 - CyberPagno 2.2 - Lozza 1.12 & Genesis 2.0 !

Over here, we can walk into a polling booth, get our authentication checked straight away, cast our vote and go home. All up a 5 minute visit. I feel sorry for you having to queue for hours.

By the way, your assessment of Nemeton's strength seems about right.
Will you be trying out CyberPagno 2.2?

A.-Yes. In Romania the voting process was easy (here PSD - the socialist party - in fact the communists - had always simple methods to influence the vote. The Russian school ! )
Diaspora was/is a big problem for they ! Near all (90%) are anti-communists ! PSD had tried to block the Romanian diaspora by decreasing the number of voting stations !
PSD is a hardly corrupted party. Near everyday leaders of this party are arrested for corruption ! For you, in New Zealand, is hard to understand & imagine what was here after 1989 year ! And they were for years received with honors in EU and OTAN !!!

B.-Well, just now CyberPagno 2.2 - Genesis 2.0 - Lozza 1.12 & Nemeton 1 are in tournament. From tomorrow the first results !

Cheers,
SilvianR

Thanks for the test! Nemeton really is in much need for some king safety and mobility. When it wins it's almost always in the endgame that it plays relatively well thanks to it's search. Too bad it rarely gets that far.

Interesting to see so many Romanians out and about to vote.

Here in the the Netherlands fewer and fewer people vote. Perhaps voting has to be something of a challenge so it is taken less for granted and suddenly a thing of strife again. You don't know what you got till it's gone.

Thanks also from me Ruxy. Lozza has (very recent) mobility code but it's disabled. I can't get the benefit to outweigh the cost; probably because of it's current ultra-simple board rep and move gen. Looking forward to the results as much as the Wales New-Zealand match :)

Re: Test Tournament (after 38 games)

Post by Sylwy »

Hello !

A.-Many events here in Romania ! For eample a relative strong and very long earthquake some minutes ago ( 5.8 on Richter not 5.5 like EMSC shows):

http://www.emsc-csem.org/Earthquake/

But Mr.Ruxy is accustomed. Years ago I lived a 7.7 on Richter !

B.-Well, about my tournament:

-TC = 5'/40 moves (with repetition)
-Main hash = 128 MB (- Lozza 1.12 - it has a fixed hash)
-Book = Perfect_2010.abk
-GUI = Arena 3.0
-CPU = Athlon 64 3800+

C.- About the 16-th of November 2014 vote. The Romanians are absolutely exasperated and angry on the so called "political class". Most of them are in fact ordinary thieves coming from the ex-communist party & security. Here, in Romania, in 1989 year wasn't a revolution but simply a coup d'etat of the second echelon of the communist party (leaded by Ion "Ilici" Iliescu - ex- president of Romania ; the honour president of PSD party ; a collaborator of diktator Ceausescu).

The Romanians want a normal life and a President honest ,able and full of common sense. That's because they massively voted Mr. Klaus Werner Johannis (14 years the mayor of Sibiu/Hermannstadt) coming from the German community in Romania (Transylvanian Saxons) - a highly respected one in Romania !
