After 200 games/each engine (900 games per total)

1.-Rhetoric 1.4.1...........[86,00%]
2.-The Baron 3.33...........[85,50%]
3.-Hermann 2.8..............[69,00%]
4.-BBChess 1.3b.............[60,50%]
5.-RomiChess P3L............[53,25%]
6.-Bearded 44.5.............[52,50%]
7.-KnightCap 3.7e...........[30,00%]
8.-Neurone XXI..............[ 8,50%]
9.-neuroStock 2.0.1.........[ 4,75%]

The next calculation: after 400 games/each engine (1800 games per total).

Cheers,
SilvianR
RomiChess went from 50% to 53.25% which is not great but considering that the stronger BBChess was added the gain does not seem bad. I know that the first post contained too few games. Looking forward to more results.

Hi !

After 400 games/each engine (1800 games per total):

Image

The situation after 900 games per total (200 games/each engine) was:

Image

Rhetoric 1.4.1 & The Baron 3.33 have very good learning functions:

Image

Take a look how good was the evolution of Rhetoric 1.4.1:

Image

The next publication will be after 2.700 games per total (600/engine) !

Hello CCC folks !

After 600 games/engine (2700 games per total) the cross-table is:

Image

After 400 games/engine:

Image

After 200 games/engine:

Image

Like you can see in the below capture, after 2700 games in my tournament, the most effective learning functions seem to be implemented in:

-Bearded 44.5
-RomiChess P3L
-KnightCap 3.7e

Image

The next publication: after 3600 games (800/engine).

Like bonus:

A.- The Institute of Anatomy in Iasi (one of the oldest in Europe):

Image

It is a part of Grigore T. Popa University of Medicine and Pharmacy in IASI - the oldest in Romania !

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grigore_T. ... d_Pharmacy

B.- Baisa forest in autumn (this forest is not far from Iasi):

Have a nice weekend !

The late Marc LaCrosse did an experiment with RomiChess using a huge opening book against about 5 very strong engines. He played a thousand or two thousand games and decided that the learning was not beneficial. I convinced him that Romi's learning would become beneficial shortly if he were to continue. I do not remember how many total games he played. However, RomiChess started to show a learning curve of about +50 elo for every one thousand games played. My own experiment of playing thru a set of 20 positions 10 times against Glaurung 2.x resulted in RomiChess going from 5% to 95% with a couple of setbacks along the way.

Edit: After this experiment is over it would be very interesting to see these engines in a tournament to see how much they gained in elo from this experiment.
